About me
Melissa has over 25 years in education- with field work in special education/learning disabilities, educational technology, public and private Montessori, early childhood, early elementary, school improvement teams, PBIS/MTSS, ISD coaching and service as a local education foundation board member. She and her husband are the proud parents of three gloriously diverse children (teens to twenties) and too many dogs.
She has her BA in both ELA K-8 and Special Education: Learning Disabilities, and her MA in Educational Technology. Melissa joined the Michigan Department of Education literacy team in 2019, continuing her passion in the education field on a larger scale. She has presented locally, statewide, and nationally on literacy, equity in education, diverse classroom libraries, MDE literacy resources, family engagement and more.
